Completed projects
The following projects have been started in the Beech Island Rural Community Water & Sewer District since the biennial meeting held August 15, 2011 and completed as of August 19, 2013.
- Altitude valves installed on the water tanks, to reduce or prevent the tanks from overflowing
- Variable Frequency Drives installed on pump motor controls to allow the portable generator to start and run pumps
- Repairs performed on various wells
- New water main installed on Pine Log Place, in preparation for paving of the road by Aiken County
- Approximately 19,580 linear feet of new water mains and taps have been installed on Old Jackson Highway and Highway 125
- McDonald’s and Sprint has been added to the sewer system
- Pine Log Landing, total of 44 lots has added to the water system
- Well and treatment building beside existing tank at Piney Heights and Pine Log Road
- Sewer lifts station and force main project to eliminate the sewage lagoon near Cary Drive
- New water mains for Woodcrest Drive, Woodcrest Way and Lewis Road
- Water main upgrades for Sand Bar Ferry Road
- Finish off water line upgrades on Old Jackson Hwy to Beech Island Avenue
- Updated the monitoring/ SCADA System for wells and tanks
- Russel Hills upgade completed
IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR BEECH ISLAND RURAL COMMUNITYY WATER&SEWER DISTRICT
- New water lines on Church Road and Highway 278
- New water lines on Horsecreek and Boyd Pond Road
- Updating all meters from manual read meters to radio read meters
